Well, after seeing online that it is pretty much the most recommended speaker for the 5e3, I turned to Weber and ordered the 12A125A. ![]() Still, I felt something was missing from the 5e3 magic, plus the super sensitive eminence made it too loud for me to be able to crank up and get any natural amp breakup at home. Similiar charactar as the P12R but slightly smoother top end and tighter bass. Much better fit tonally, and I enjoyed the punch of the ceramic speaker. Warm tone with some bite in the mid frequencies which translates into a fierce response to overdrive distortion. After that, I tried another emi, the 1258 legend. Going into a darker, bassier circuit like the 5e3, there was no clarity and even with some changes to the coupling caps it was way too boomy. I initially took an eminence C-rex that I had spare from my blues jr and put it in the Tweed cabinet. I built a Tweed 5e3 clone earlier this year, and needed a speaker.
